POOLE TWIN SAILS BRIDGE

About This Project

CMP were the specialist marine contractor responsible for the installation of 6 large marine cofferdams, formed to facilitate the pile caps for the new Twin Sails Bridge.

CMP worked with Hochtief during the Early Contractor Involvement process which allowed introduction of innovation that secured the project for Hochtief and CMP.

Over 1000 tonnes of steel sheet piles were installed for 5 temporary cofferdams, and 200tonnes for the permanent cofferdam. 55 large diameter piles were bored into the riverbed to depth of 30 meters using specialist drilling equipment working from CMP’s jack-up barge. The piles were constructed with concrete and reinforcement being formed in situ.

The project involved use of a wide range of specialist marine equipment supplied and operated by CMP.
